As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m looking for ways to take a moment to be grateful and explore appreciation. Reminiscing about the Water Lantern Festival inspires people to let go of their worries and embrace happiness and peace instead.
At this one-of-a-kind event, family members, friends, and strangers come together to celebrate life. This lantern festival gathered together individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This was one emotionally charged and wonderful evening.

The festival gave birth to the notion of hosting a Friendsgiving. It will be a way to bring together your chosen friends, whom you consider to be family. You may decide on an individual who has had a significant impact on your life, but whom you may not see much. Something a little more relaxed than the usual Thanksgiving dinner.
Tradition is nice, but an out-of-the-box creative dinner party with a select group of friends, could be a fun way to celebrate as well.
Decide the vibe✨have some fun with these game ideas!
- Share Positive Affirmations, Bring everyone together and ask them to express what they like best about family. Begin by saying, “I adore my family because…” to each other. It’s a wonderful method to communicate emotions, promote positive energy and spread love.
- Organize a tournament of board games, Get your board games out the closet and put them to good use in a friendly competition. Play a round and the winner moves on to the next round, and so on, until the year’s family board game champion is determined.
- What’s missing from this plate, Place 6-10 Thanksgiving themed objects on a plate. Participants should thoroughly examine the tray for 30 seconds before closing their eyes. Remove one thing when their eyes are closed. Reopen their eyes and inquire about the lost object. It’s a twist on the classic Concentration Game.
